Common symptoms of Alzheimer's syndrome:
1. Memory and cognitive impairment
2. Difficulty expressing oneself in language
3. Changes in behavior, mood, or personality
4. Confusion about time or place
5. Misplacing objects and not being able to remember what you did

Complications:
Memory and language loss, impaired judgment, and other cognitive changes caused by this syndrome can make it difficult to treat other conditions. An Alzheimer's patient may:

Not tell others that they are in pain, such as a toothache, hand pain, etc.
Not be able to comply with treatment regimens,
Not report or describe side effects of medications
As the disease progresses to the final stages, brain changes begin to affect physical functions, such as swallowing, behavior control, etc. Most Alzheimer's patients do not die from the main disease, but often from accompanying diseases such as:

Pneumonia: This is a condition in which the lungs become swollen and infected due to inhalation of mucus from gastric juices, or from food, etc. into the lungs or respiratory tract.

Infection: Patients often have incontinence, so they have to have a catheter, increasing the risk of urinary tract infections, which, if left untreated, will get worse and can be life-threatening.
Falls and injuries: Patients often have difficulty orienting distances, so the risk of falling when moving and exercising increases. This can lead to cases of broken bones, severe head and neck injuries that can lead to bleeding, hematoma, etc. Severe cases require hospitalization for surgery and inpatient care.

1. What is Alzheimer's disease?

Alzheimer's disease is an irreversible brain disease that gradually destroys memory, language and thinking skills, eventually leaving patients unable to complete even the smallest tasks. But early detection and treatment can help improve the quality of life for patients.

2. Who is at risk?

The risk of developing Alzheimer's increases with age, starting around age 65. While there is no clear answer, many studies suggest that the following factors may promote the development of the disease:

Diabetes;

Prolonged stress, tension and depression;

High cholesterol;

Smoking;

Lack of social interaction.
