Ngayong ika-19 ng Mayo 2026, buong pusong ipinagdiriwang ng Baliuag District Hospital-Public Health Unit ang National Health Workers’ Day bilang pagpupugay sa lahat ng mga bayaning manggagawang pangkalusugan na walang sawang naglilingkod para sa kaligtasan at kapakanan ng bawat pasyente at komunidad.

Sa likod ng bawat serbisyong medikal ay ang dedikasyon, malasakit, sakripisyo, at tibay ng ating mga doctors, nurses, midwives, medical technologists, utility personnel, administrative staff, at lahat ng health workers na araw-araw na nagbibigay ng pag-asa at pag-aaruga sa ating mamamayan.

Maraming salamat sa inyong walang kapantay na serbisyo at tunay na malasakit. Kayo ang puso ng ating healthcare system at inspirasyon ng bawat buhay na inyong natutulungan.

Ang Hantaviruses ay grupo ng mga virus na nakukuha sa mga rodent gaya ng daga.

Ayon sa ulat ng World Health Organization (WHO), as of May 7, 2026, may ilang kaso ng Andes virus (mula sa grupo ng Hantaviruses) ang naitala sa mga pasahero ng cruise ship na MV Hondius, na naglayag mula Argentina patungong mga pulo sa South Atlantic.

Tinitiyak ng Department of Health na ligtas ang 38 Filipino crew members na nasa loob ng barkong ito.

Mahalagang paalala ng DOH: WALANG kumpirmadong kaso ng Hantaviruses sa Pilipinas. Mahigpit na binabantayan ang borders ng bansa sa pamamagitan ng mga hakbang ng Bureau of Quarantine.

Nananatiling mababa ang panganib nito sa mundo ayon mismo sa WHO.
