đ€đ©șđ©ââïžâ€ïž HAPPY NURSES WEEK TO MY KA- KuNARS đ Daisy Jane Hallera Macuto ..
To All Filipino Nurses Around the World: This Oneâs for You
(Yes, including you sa triage, ER, OR, DR, ICU, pedia, sa clinic, school nurse, company nurse, Saudi, UK, US, Canada, kahit sa bahay lang naka-duty kay nanay at tatayâhindi ko kayo nakalimutan.)
Happy Nurses Week!
To our dear Filipino nurses, wherever you are in the worldâwhether you're inserting IVs with one hand while comforting a patient with the other, or chasing doctors for orders like it's part of your cardio routineâwe see you. We celebrate you. We laugh-cringe with you.
Letâs face it, being a nurse isnât for the faint-hearted. Youâve probably said one (or all) of these at some point:
âSino âyung nagsabing 8-hour shift lang to? Gusto ko lang makausap.â
âNag-breakfast ako... mga 5pm.â
âCharting pa more. Akala ko writer ako, hindi nurse.â
âAy, off duty ko ngayon... pero andito pa rin ako.â
And yet⊠you still show up.
You show up when you're tired.
You show up kahit may fever ka pero mas mataas pa temp ng patient mo.
You show up with kindness, skill, and the superpower of appearing calm kahit toxic na.
And letâs be honestâwala pa ring tatalo sa Filipino nurses pagdating sa alaga, diskarte, at tsismis skills sa nurse station. Complete package.
To those working abroad:
We know itâs not easy being away from family. You're taking care of other peopleâs loved ones while missing yours. You're learning new languages, adjusting to cold climates (hello po sa mga nasa -20°C), and still sending money back homeâbecause that's what Filipino nurses do. Respiratory support sa hospital, financial support sa bahay.
To those here in the Philippines:
Youâre surviving low pay, high patient ratios, and still finding the time to smile, laugh, and make TikToks between codes. Grabe ka, âday.
So today, we say: THANK YOU.
Thank you for being the beating heart of healthcare.
Thank you for the patience, even when itâs running thin.
Thank you for the compassion, even when youâre running on caffeine and hope.
Thank you for the humorâbecause somehow, nurses make the darkest days feel a little lighter with one sarcastic comment.
Celebrate yourself this week.
You deserve the flowers, the cakes, the free coffee, and yes, kahit ballpen lang bigay ng adminâilagay sa scrub pocket proudly!
So raise your BP cuffs, raise your coffee cups, and tell yourself:
âIâm a Filipino nurse. I survived another toxic shift. Kaya ko âto. Pero sana rest day bukas, Lord.â
Maligayang Nurses Week sa ating lahat!
Weâre underpaid, overworkedâbut NEVER underappreciated.
(At least not in this blog. Love you all!)
