| Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas has issued an executive order suspending government work and classes in all levels, both public and private, in the province tomorrow, November 10, 2025, as Typhoon “Uwan” (international name: Fung-Wong) continues to pose a threat to Northern Luzon.

According to the latest Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 8 issued by PAGASA at 5:00 a.m. on November 9, Typhoon Uwan has maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 215 km/h, moving west-northwestward at 35 km/h.

The strong to typhoon-force winds of the typhoon extend outward up to 800 kilometers from its center.

As of 4:00 a.m. today, the eye of Uwan was located approximately 195 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes (13.8°N, 126.0°E) and continues to rapidly intensify as it moves closer to the Bicol Region.

PAGASA placed Benguet under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3, warning of storm-force winds with potential moderate to significant threats to life and property. The state weather bureau also cautioned of heavy rainfall, strong winds, and possible storm surges affecting Northern Luzon, including the Cordillera region.

Governor Diclas urged residents to take precautionary measures, especially those living in low-lying, landslide-prone, and riverside areas, and to coordinate closely with their respective local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and immediately evacuate if needed.

He also advised the public to save the contact numbers of their respective emergency operations centers and coordinate immediately in case of emergencies.

The public is advised to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and continuously monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA and local government authorities.

For further details, the next tropical cyclone bulletin will be issued by PAGASA at 8:00 a.m. today.
