Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan Relief Efforts

Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan Relief Efforts I went to the Philippines to help in relief/rebuilding work, and we've only begun to make a dent. I will keep track of every cent!

-In light of the tragedy that has occurred due to Typhoon Yolanda, I was immediately notified of just how much help was needed in the Visayas. I checked in with former team leaders and with the head of an organization I worked with in the past years, and she said that yes, they could use extra hands.
-I am taking off December 31st and raising $3500 to help a medical team, trauma team, and rebuildi

ng team in Roxas, Capiz under a faith based organization called Christian Light Foundation (CLF).
-My email address is [email protected], and I will be using PayPal in order to raise support. Rest assured, money will go to relief victims and our efforts to partner with those already there as our country rebuilds and heals.
-Should you decide you only want to give to CLF, please send contributions to either Christian Light Foundation Philippines or Living NEW Ministries,
Marked "disaster relief" to
PO Box 6308
Jacksonville, FL 32236-6308. Or visit their website at www.clfphils.org
-This page will function as a way for you participate. :) Thank you!

This time last year.
Remembering Yolanda.
Missing the homeland, but thankful, I wasn't there for another super typhoon's math. Love to everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I've been thinking about this for a few days now. And I feel as though I should take a minute to remember those whose lives were lost, those who lost family members and homes, and my home country during the second biggest storm to ever hit the world. I would also like to include what's been a personal struggle for months...which is the reason why I (Sarah Jalandoon) have stopped posting on the page. How am I to be an effective helper with the right motives, with an attitude that will be helpful and empowering versus enabling within a corrupt system? Food for thought as we wrestle with the memories of last year.

Sorry for the delay, but I will get better at editing.

Music by Waterdeep. It's called "Galeana," and they wrote it after a trip they did. I do not intend the lyrics to be taken literally. I would never want those I met and able to work with to think that I would refer to them in pejorative terms, but I felt as though they taught me a lot by allowing me into their lives, and I am eternally grateful for this opportunity.

If you're interested in donating still, please contact me, Sarah Grace Jalandoon.

This past January, I landed in Manila. I haven't forgotten my promises. I'll have another video up this weekend and will be participating in a fundraiser in Denver to help a friend of a friend's NGO in the Philippines.

I just wanna take this time to apologize for my lack of activity on this page. There was school, internships, and some family crises; however, I hope to be editing more videos and uploading by next week. Also, if you're in the Denver area, there's a benefit that you can be a part of, where I will be speaking momentarily regarding Typhoon Yolanda victims. More to come next week! Please bear with me!!

I am in no way competent to film or make "nice" videos, but I was asked to document what I saw and experienced to bring back to the U.S. So here's the first video!

The last album is up! I don't know when I'll have videos up yet, but please bear with me. Thank you to all who has helped make the trip and its efforts happen. If you would still like to donate money, please let me know. We are trying to find the quickest way to get money to Roxas City so that Tapaz and Roxas Ocho can receive more funds for rebuilding churches and homes.
