The Municipality of Maayon, Capiz joined the nationwide observance of National CPR Day on July 17, 2026, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening emergency preparedness and promoting life-saving skills within the community.

A total of 15 pairs of participants, composed of personnel from the Primary Care Facility (PCF) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), actively participated in the activity. During the event, each rescuer demonstrated Hands-Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by performing continuous chest compressions for two (2) minutes, delivering approximately 240 chest compressions in accordance with the recommended CPR guidelines.

This activity highlights the Municipality's dedication to building a community that is equipped with essential life-saving knowledge and skills, empowering responders to act confidently during emergency situations and ultimately helping save lives.

The Municipality of Maayon successfully conducted the 52nd Nutrition Month Celebration on July 15, 2026, at the Maayon Civic Center, Maayon, Capiz, with the theme "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan."

The celebration featured informative lectures on proper nutrition, including the Pinggang Pinoy guide, vegetable gardening, and other essential topics promoting the nutritional well-being of children, senior citizens, and other vulnerable groups. Participants also received vitamins, grocery goods, and food packs, while children benefited from a feeding program organized as part of the activity.

Buntis Congress 2026 | July 15, 2026

Today, July 15, 2026, the Municipality of Maayon successfully conducted the Buntis Congress 2026 with the theme, "Healthy Mom, Healthy Baby: Alagang Sigurado, Kinabukasang Panalo."

A total of 100 pregnant mothers participated in the activity, where they received valuable information and enhanced their knowledge on Safe Motherhood and the importance of quality maternal care. Participants also received pregnancy kits, vitamins, and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to support a healthy pregnancy and promote the well-being of both mother and child.

The Municipality of Maayon remains committed to strengthening maternal and child health programs by empowering expectant mothers through health education, preventive care, and continuous community support.

Under the leadership of Dr. Sandra Sorongon, Municipal Health Officer, the Municipal Health Office continues to strengthen its dengue prevention and control efforts in response to the increasing number of dengue cases in our municipality.

As part of these efforts, Sanitary Inspectors Joan Combate and Charmaine Hiponia conducted a case investigation and environmental assessment in Barangay New Guia. During the inspection, several potential mosquito breeding sites were identified, prompting the immediate implementation of appropriate control and preventive measures.

Health education was also provided to residents, highlighting the 5S Strategy Against Dengue: Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites, Secure self-protection measures, Seek early consultation, Support fogging or spraying in hotspot areas when necessary, and Stay hydrated to help prevent complications among suspected dengue patients.

The Municipal Health Office encourages everyone to remain vigilant, maintain a clean environment, and actively participate in community efforts to eliminate mosquito breeding places. Through collective action, we can protect our families and keep our community safe from dengue.
