Last May 22, 2026, the OEP Seminar 2026, conducted by the ๐Ÿ”๐ญ๐ก ๐˜๐ž๐š๐ซ ๐Ž๐ฉ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐ฌ, was packed with everything! From eye-opening discussions on Ocular Disease and Management, chaotic challenges, station activities that tested both brains and patience, quizzes, games, zumba, team activities, and way too many โ€œunsa gani to?โ€ moments throughout the day.

To all the 3rd Year and 4th Year Optometry students who joined us, laughed with us, competed, shouted answers during quizzes, danced during zumba, and survived the whole-day energy draining with usโ€”thank you for making the seminar so fun and memorable.

In celebration of Philippine Optometry Week (June 1โ€“7, 2026), the Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists invites you to show off your artistic talents in our official Poster Making Contest! This year's theme is "SEEING THE FUTURE: EYE CARE FOR ALL".
We want to see how you visually capture the importance of equitable eye care and vision for everyone.

Last April 24, 2026, 4th Year Optometry students of Davao Doctors College conducted a factory site visit at ๐…๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ค๐ฅ๐ข๐ง ๐๐š๐ค๐ž๐ซ โ€“ ๐ƒ๐š๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐  ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ญ in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur as part of their ๐Ž๐œ๐œ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐Ž๐ฉ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ course.

The visit gave students hands-on exposure to an actual workplace, allowing them to observe and assess vision-related hazards and understand how working conditions impact visual health and employee safety. During the activity, students were also able to conduct vision screening among the workers, providing an opportunity to apply their clinical skills in a real occupational setting while promoting awareness of visual health in the workplace.

Through this experience, students translated classroom learning into practice, strengthening their appreciation for occupational optometry and the importance of eye care in occupational health. The group also extends its gratitude to ๐…๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ค๐ฅ๐ข๐ง ๐๐š๐ค๐ž๐ซ for the warm accommodation and valuable insights shared. ๐ŸŒดโœจ

Vision often goes unnoticed in everyday life, something people rely on daily without much thought, until it begins to worsen. What often goes unseen is the work behind it. The optometrists who help and manage eye conditions before and after they get worse. Itโ€™s more than just prescribing glasses, theyโ€™re part of everyday healthcare, helping people see clearly and go about their lives without missing a step.

This World Optometry Day, we give credit to the optometrists who continue to do the work, often without much recognition. With more people dealing with eye strain and vision problems, their role feels even more relevant. Taking care of our vision also means recognizing the people who make it possible. Clear vision is not just about comfortโ€”it is keeping your eyes healthy for a clearer and brighter future.
