In celebration of the 53rd Anniversary of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), PRC Region XI, in partnership with the Accredited Professional Organizations (APOs) in Region XI, successfully conducted a Medical Mission in Indangan, Buhangin, Davao City.
Among the participating organizations was the Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines (IMAP) – Davao City Chapter, which provided essential maternal and reproductive health services, including prenatal consultations, family planning services, implant removal, and the distribution of baby kits and pregnancy kits courtesy of the Department od Health-Center for Health Development Region XI.
The activity was further strengthened through the collaboration of various healthcare professionals and organizations. Doctors from SPMC conducted free medical consultations and Operation Tuli (circumcision), while the Pharmacy Association of Davao distributed medicines to community members. PAMET conducted health education on proper handwashing and distributed hand soaps, while volunteer optometrists provided free eye examinations.
The Philippine Nurses Association spearheaded the triage team and assisted in the delivery of services, including Operation Tuli.
This meaningful outreach activity highlights the spirit of service, compassion, and collaboration among healthcare professionals in bringing quality healthcare closer to the community. As PRC celebrates its 53rd Anniversary, this medical mission stands as a testament to the profession's commitment to public service and nation-building.
