Pag-inom og igo nga tubig ug pagkaon og masustansiyang pagkaon aron mapalig-on ang panglawas ug respiratory system.

(MDS/CIO/Infog by: Alrey Escueta/CIO)

DOH: WALANG N95 MASK?

The Department of Health โ€“ Center for Health Development Northern Mindanao (DOH CHD-NM) advises the public to take precautionary measures as haze is currently being monitored in parts of Northern Mindanao.

According to the latest air quality update from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources โ€“ Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) Northern Mindanao, the observed haze is associated with transboundary smoke from forest and land fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia, which may be carried into the Philippines by the southwest monsoon (habagat).

Based on the latest monitoring, the Cagayan de Oro City and Tagoloan stations recorded air quality ranging from Fair to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, while the Iligan City station recorded elevated air quality levels.

The public is encouraged to limit prolonged outdoor activities when haze levels are elevated, stay hydrated, and use appropriate protective measures when going outdoors. Individuals who experience difficulty breathing, persistent coughing, eye irritation, or other concerning symptoms should seek appropriate medical attention.

DOH CHD-NM reminds the public, especially public utility drivers, delivery riders, street vendors, field workers, and other individuals who spend extended periods outdoors, to follow recommended health precautions during haze episodes.

Stay informed, follow official health and air quality advisories, and always make your health and safety a priority.

Secondhand smoke is no joke!
Quit now or seek help on how ๐Ÿšญ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿšฌ

These statistics are more than just numbers, they represent real people, real lives, and real consequences.

They remind us that taking our maintenance medications consistently, making healthier lifestyle choices, and keeping regular check-ups with our doctors are not optional, they are essential. Many chronic diseases progress silently, often without symptoms until complications arise.

Donโ€™t wait for a warning sign before taking your health seriously. Prevention, early detection, and consistent care remain some of the most powerful tools we have to protect our health and improve our quality of life.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Top Health Concerns Among Filipinos in 2026

The Philippine Statistics Authority reports the top causes of death in the country for January to February 2026 (Provisional as of 30 June 2026).

Leading the list were:

Ischaemic heart diseases
๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Pneumonia
๐Ÿง  Cerebrovascular diseases
๐Ÿ”ฌ Neoplasms
๐Ÿฉธ Diabetes mellitus

While the numbers reflect ongoing health challenges, they also remind us to take small steps toward better lifestyle choices, regular check-ups, and stronger support for community health.

Stay informed. Stay healthy. ๐Ÿ’™
