MYTH: Only women who have had many sexual partners get HPV.

FACT: Anyone who is sexually active can acquire HPV—regardless of the number of sexual partners. HPV is extremely common and can be transmitted even with a single instance of sexual contact.

HPV does not discriminate. Let’s replace stigma with knowledge: get vaccinated, follow recommended cervical cancer screening, and stay informed.

“Having a biopsy makes cancer worse or makes it spread.”

A biopsy can understandably feel frightening—especially when you are already worried about cancer. But having a biopsy does not make cancer worse or cause it to spread.

🔬 A biopsy is a carefully performed procedure that obtains a small sample of tissue or cells so that a pathologist can determine whether cancer is present and, if so, what type it is. This information is essential in choosing the most appropriate treatment.

In most situations, the benefits of getting an accurate diagnosis far outweigh the risks of the procedure. Your doctor will also choose the safest biopsy technique based on the location and characteristics of the suspected lesion.
