The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine proudly extends its warmest congratulations to its two outstanding residents, Molly Pollin Gamboa, MD, for winning CHAMPION in the Case Report Contest, and Roendel Bustillo, MD, for garnering 3rd Place in the Research Competition during the 2026 11th Regional Pathology Congress held last March 21, 2026, at District 21, Iloilo City.

Your exemplary performance reflects not only your dedication, hard work, and excellence, but also the strong commitment of the department to fostering academic and professional growth. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Staining Now Available!

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of Western Visayas Medical Center now offers Immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining using the Roche Ventana GX automated staining platform to support accurate diagnosis and cancer management.

The Western Visayas Medical Center Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine proudly congratulates our WVMC-trained pathologists who successfully passed the recent Philippine Board of Pathology diplomate/specialty board examinations.

Twenty-nine (29) examinees passed in Anatomic Pathology and thirty-nine (39) in Clinical Pathology during the exams held on February 22 and March 1, 2026, at the Philippine Medical Association Auditorium, Quezon City.
