No matter how “simple” a procedure looks, patient safety must come first—from proper screening to surgery and long-term follow-up.

Qualified hands. Proper standards. Safe patients. Period.

PAPRAS strongly opposes the conduct of purely cosmetic elective procedures in government-sanctioned medical missions. Such practices misallocate public resources, compromise perioperative safety, and fail to meet the humanitarian threshold of missions intended to address congenital, traumatic, or pathologic conditions. Government hospitals, funded by taxpayers, must prioritize indigent patients requiring life-saving or reconstructive care, not elective enhancements.
