I saw this post and I actually agree with the first part:
Iba-iba talaga ang meaning ng success.
Pero as a leader and trainer, I think we need to be careful with where this idea leads us.
Because kanya-kanyang definition ng success does NOT mean kanya-kanyang reality din.
You can define success as having peace of mind.
You can define it as having more time with your family.
You can define it as living simply.
And thatโs perfectly valid.
But if youโre constantly broke, drowning in debt, unhealthy, stuck in the same place for 10 years, and doing nothing to change itโฆ
hindi porkeโt sinabi mong โsuccessful ako dahil masaya akoโ automatically means successful ka.
Maybe youโre content.
Maybe youโre grateful.
Maybe youโre happy.
But success requires progress.
Thatโs an important distinction.
As a trainer, Iโve worked with people who wanted โsuccessโ but couldnโt define what they actually wanted.
And Iโve also worked with people who had big dreams but didnโt have the skills, discipline, or systems to get there.
Thatโs why I donโt just teach mindset.
Mindset matters.
But mindset without skills + action + measurement + growth can become an excuse.
And hereโs another controversial one:
Hindi rin masama ang pera.
Hindi shallow ang gustong magkaroon ng magandang bahay.
Hindi shallow ang gustong mag-travel.
Hindi shallow ang gustong magkaroon ng magandang sasakyan.
Hindi shallow ang gustong kumita ng malaki.
The problem is when those things become your ONLY measurement of success.
Because Iโve seen people with money who are miserable.
And Iโve seen people with very little who are genuinely happy.
But Iโve also seen something else:
People use โIโm already happyโ as a reason to stop growing.
And thatโs where I disagree.
You can be grateful for where you are AND still want more.
You can love your simple life AND still pursue bigger goals.
You can be content AND still improve.
For me, success isnโt:
โMay Ferrari ako.โ
Itโs also not:
โWala akong Ferrari pero masaya ako.โ
Itโs this:
AM I MOVING FORWARD?
Better leader?
Better husband?
Better father?
Better business?
Better health?
Better finances?
Better character?
Bigger contribution?
Thatโs success to me.
Hindi destination.
Direction.
And as leaders, maybe our job isnโt to convince people that they need our version of success.
Our job is to help people define their own scoreboardโฆthen develop the capacity to actually win on it.
Because you donโt need to live someone elseโs definition of success. But you also shouldnโt use your definition of success to justify staying stuck. Read that again.
Thatโs my HOT TAKE.
