TODAY’s GMRC | Show Respect By Asking Permission

If you are still under the care of your parents, make it a habit to ask their permission whenever you go somewhere.

This is more than just following a rule—it is an act of respect and trust. Your parents look after you not to limit you, but to protect you and guide you toward what is good.

Asking permission teaches you responsibility. It builds trust within the family. It forms in you a spirit of humility and openness.

Remember, true freedom is not doing whatever we want—it is choosing what is right.

As Scripture reminds us: “Honor your father and your mother” (Exodus 20:12).

When you honor them, you also honor God who placed them in your life to guide you.

🚀 Faith even beyond the stars.

Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman shared how deeply moved he was when he saw a Christian cross worn by a Navy chaplain after returning from space. The moment reminded him that even after exploring the vastness of the universe, faith remains a powerful source of hope and meaning. ✝️

Offering of myself to God’s Merciful Love.

In order to live in one single act of perfect Love, I offer myself as a victim of holocaust to Your merciful love, asking You to consume me incessantly, allowing the waves of infinite tenderness shut up within You to overflow into my soul, and that thus I may become a Martyr of Your Love, O my God!...

May this martyrdom, after having prepared me to appear before You, finally cause me to die and may my soul take its flight without any delay into the eternal embrace of Your Merciful Love...

I want, O my Beloved, at each beat of my heart to renew this offering to You an infinite number of times, until the shadows having disappeared I may be able to tell You of my Love in an Eternal Face to Face!...

In these times when our world is wounded by violence, conflict, and uncertainty, we are called as a Church to respond not with fear, but with faith.

In response to the Holy Father’s call to pray and work for peace, I am inviting all parishes, communities, and institutions in the Archdiocese of Cebu to hold a Prayer Vigil for Peace on April 11, 2026 (Saturday), from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The one-hour prayer vigil will be held in every parish church and in every chapel. I encourage all the faithful to gather and pray.

During the vigil, the first half (8:00–8:30 PM) will be devoted to the praying of the Holy Rosary and the Litany of the Saints. The second half (8:30–9:00 PM) will be spent in silent prayer, as we listen to God’s voice in our hearts and entrust to Him our longing for peace in the world, especially in places torn by war. End your Vigil with the Oratio Imperata for Peace and Solidarity with the Poor (copy below).

Let us ask the Lord to touch hearts, guide leaders, and bring an end to violence.

I also encourage everyone to accompany our prayers with personal sacrifices and works of charity, especially for the poor, who suffer most in times of conflict.

In this way, our prayer becomes not only words—but love in action.

May the Prince of Peace reign in our hearts and in our world.

Oratio Imperata for Peace and Solidarity with the Poor

Heavenly Father,
Creator of all and loving Provider,
we come before You in this time of uncertainty and need.

As the world faces conflict and rising costs of fuel,
we feel the burden upon our daily lives,
especially the poor and the vulnerable.

Grant patience to those who are struggling,
that they may endure their hardships with hope.
Grant generosity to those who are in better circumstances,
that they may share their blessings with compassion.
Grant wisdom to leaders,
that they may choose peace over war,
dialogue over violence,
and the good of all over selfish gain.

Teach us to be responsible stewards of Your creation,
to use resources wisely,
to avoid waste,
and to care for one another in charity and solidarity.

Strengthen our faith in Your providence,
that even in times of crisis,
we may trust that You will not abandon Your people.

May the Santo Niño guide and protect us,
and may Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, intercede for us,
that peace may reign and hope may endure.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

among gibati ang bug-at nga epekto niini sa among inadlaw-adlaw nga kinabuhi,

aron pili-on nila ang kalinaw imbis gubat,
pakig-diyalogo imbis kapintas,
ug ang kaayohan sa tanan imbis kaugalingong interes.

Tudlo-i kami nga mahimong matinud-anong tig-atiman sa Imong kabuhatan,

Gipangayo namo kini pinaagi kang Kristo nga among Ginoo.
Amen.

1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
