Learning the Proper Use of the Contour Sheet in Massage Therapy 👐✨

Today, Ma’am Agor taught us the proper way to use a contour sheet during massage therapy. It serves two important purposes: to help maintain the client’s body temperature and to properly cover the client’s back for privacy and comfort.

It was a great learning experience for all of us, and we worked together as a team to practice the proper draping technique. 💆‍♀️💆‍♂️

ONE-HANDED EFFLEURAGE

One-Handed Effleurage – this is a deep effleurage that uses the palm, knuckles, forearm.

Variations: One-Handed Effleurage

1. One-Handed Raking Effleurage
Using two fingertips, the index and the middle finger, gliding at the side of the spine (Erector Spinea).

2. One-Handed Ironing Effleurage
This is a deep effleurage that uses the palm, knuckles, forearm.

3. One-Handed Circular Effleurage
Using the palm in a circular motion and can be performed around the shoulder or hip and elbow or knee.
