ISAM 2026 Day 2 | Advancing Philippine Addiction and Recovery Medicine on the Global Stage! 🇵🇭

A proud milestone as our consultants from the University of the Philippines–Philippine General Hospital (UP–PGH) Division of Addiction and Recovery Medicine took part in a panel symposium at the ISAM 2026 Congress in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, on October 2, 2026.

The symposium, entitled “Advancing Addiction Medicine in the Philippines: Early Epidemiological Insights from the First Transdisciplinary Training and Clinical Service in Low-Resource Setting,” featured Dr. Joselito C. Pascual as moderator; and Dr. Pamela Bianca Bandelaria, Dr. Allandale Nacino, Dr. Jonna Datu, and Dr. Jiggy Leonard Landong as speakers.

The discussion highlighted emerging Philippine data, the importance of transdisciplinary collaboration, and efforts to strengthen addiction and recovery medicine services despite resource limitations.

👏 A meaningful opportunity to share Philippine experiences, contribute to global conversations, and advance addiction and recovery medicine through research, training, and clinical practice.

ISAM 2026 Day 3 | Advancing Digital Wellness Among Filipino Youth 🇵🇭

We congratulate Dr. Paul Lawrence Filomeno as he delivered a plenary talk entitled “A Culturally Rooted, Multisectoral Digital-Wellness Innovation for Preventing Problematic Interactive Media Use in Filipino Children and Adolescents” at the ISAM 2026 Congress in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

His presentation highlighted the importance of early prevention, culturally responsive interventions, and multisectoral collaboration in promoting healthier digital habits among Filipino children and adolescents.

👏 A proud moment for Philippine Addiction Medicine on the international stage!

Today, October 10, 2026, the UP-PGH Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine joins the global community in commemorating World Mental Health Day.

This year’s theme, “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change,” reminds us that every story matters, especially those that have long gone unheard.

May we continue to create spaces where people feel safe to share their stories and where their voices are met with understanding rather than judgment. More importantly, may we listen, learn from their experiences, and work together toward a kinder, more inclusive, and more responsive mental health system.

Every story deserves to be heard. Every voice has the power to inspire change.
