At Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, our Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee stands at the forefront of education and prevention. United with Chinese General Colleges, we tirelessly conduct awareness campaigns for hospital staff, medical, nursing, and medical technology students—reaching even senior high school learners.

Strong leadership bridges our AMS and IPC programs, highlighted each year as we present the hospital antibiogram and align it with national trends. Behind us is a steadfast microbiology laboratory performing cultures and PCR testing to detect molecular resistance. Through collaboration, data, and education, we empower every learner to safeguard the future of antimicrobial care. 💙

EVERY HOSPITAL HAS A STORY. EVERY ACTION PROTECTS A LIFE.
Another success story for Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee (CGHMC AMS)! This is Nanay Elena. She came to the hospital worried—an elderly woman with diabetes facing the possibility of losing her leg. But what met her was not fear, but a coordinated team committed to saving her limb and her independence. Guided by a strong Antimicrobial Stewardship program, physicians, surgeons, nurses, pharmacists, and the microbiology laboratory worked together: choosing the right antibiotics, monitoring her progress daily, and supporting her every step. Weeks later, she walked out on her own two feet. A life changed, a limb saved!

The World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week 2025 has officially wrapped up, and we’re grateful for everyone who took part in this meaningful week of learning, advocacy, and action.

With this year’s theme— “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future”—we came together to strengthen awareness on antimicrobial resistance and highlight our role as stewards of responsible antimicrobial use.
