The Third Annual Caregiver Empowerment, themed "𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲: 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞," 🎨🧩 was held last August 22, 2026 (Saturday) at Andante Café Lounge, Clark Freeport Zone. 📍

𝐅𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫: Frances Kristine V. Canon, LPT, M.Ed., CBCT, School Director of Creative Learning Paths, presented "Supporting Tweens."

As she put it, this generation is searching for control, belonging, and identity — often turning to social media to find it. But underneath that search, she reminded us, is a simple craving for connection. It all boils down to relationship.

Play to connect — that's the pathway. Whether it's a shared game, a shared activity, or simply shared time, connection doesn't need a screen. Sometimes the most impactful thing a parent can offer isn't a rule or a restriction, but presence.

🎯 Next, the 4th ACE 2026 speaker spotlight: Melissa Pantig-Gonzales, RSLP, a Speech Therapist, shared a talk about Leisure, Games for Adults, and Social Thinking. She took caregivers through how play evolves from infancy to adulthood — from sensory exploration to shared, self-care play — the skills each stage builds, and simple strategies (follow their lead, be the toy, co-regulate) to connect with a child right where they are. 🧩💛

🎯 3rd ACE 2026 speaker spotlight: Dr. Winnie Rose Deleganzo, FPPS, DPSDBP, a Developmental Pediatrician, presented “Thinking Outside the Screen: Why Sensory Motor Play Matters.” She broke down how screen time affects attention, sensory processing, and development in neurodivergent children, shared age-based screen guidelines, and offered real, doable sensory-motor alternatives caregivers can start at home. 📵✨

🎯 Our second ACE 2026 speaker: Anne Kristine N. Rivera, MFLCD, OTRP, Occupational Therapist, spoke on “Co-regulation through Play: Helping Children Feel Safe, Connected, and Ready to Learn.” She shared the CASE framework (Connection, Affect, Safety, Encouragement) and showed caregivers how lending their own calm — not control — helps a dysregulated child feel safe enough to explore, engage, and learn. 🌿

🎯 Our first ACE 2026 speaker is done! Christian Eidref G. Santos, PTRP, CPMT, Pediatric Physiotherapist, unpacked “Motor Planning in Games” — how the brain plans, organizes, and executes movement, and why some kids seem “clumsy” or avoid active play. He walked caregivers through the three steps of motor planning (ideation, planning, ex*****on) and shared hands-on activities — from ball play to obstacle courses — that build body awareness through games kids already love. 🎲
