WHY DO WE SOMETIMES FEEL HAPPIEST WHEN WE’RE EXHAUSTED? 🌿🚶🏻♀️
In the past months, I walked until I was tired, hungry, and ready to sit down…
…but strangely, I also felt HAPPY. 😊
It made me wonder: Why does moving our body sometimes make us feel better—even when it makes us physically tired?
Turns out, science has something to say about it. 🔬
📚 Recent research on walking and well-being found that:
• 🚶🏻♀️ Walking is associated with increased positive emotions and greater feelings of energy.
• 😊 People tend to report feeling happier and more activated while walking compared with being sedentary.
• 🌳 Walking in nature may be even more beneficial, with studies showing improvements in mood, well-being and positive affect.
• 💚 And you don’t necessarily need a marathon. Research suggests that even relatively short walks can have measurable effects on how we feel.
As a wealth planner and pharmacist, I’m fascinated by how something as simple as putting one foot in front of the other can have an impact not just on our physical health, but also on our mental well-being.
Maybe wellness isn’t always about adding another supplement, following another protocol, or finding the perfect routine.
Sometimes…
Go outside.
Walk.
Breathe.
Look around.
Get tired.
Because there’s a beautiful kind of tiredness that comes from living fully—not from being burned out. ❤️
And sometimes, you don’t walk because you’re happy.
You walk… and happiness catches up with you. 🌿
