Know the Warning Signs of Head and Neck Cancer

Don't ignore symptoms that last longer than two weeks:
🔹 A persistent mouth ulcer
🔹 A lump in the neck
🔹 Hoarseness or voice changes
🔹 Difficulty swallowing
🔹 Persistent sore throat
🔹 Red or white patches inside the mouth

Risk factors include to***co use, excessive alcohol consumption, HPV infection, and prolonged sun exposure (for lip cancer).

Early detection leads to better treatment outcomes. If symptoms persist, consult an ENT–Head and Neck Specialist promptly.

Cotton Buds and Your Ears: A Bad Match?

Think cotton buds keep your ears clean? Think again.
Your ears are naturally self-cleaning, and inserting cotton buds into the ear canal can:

❌ Push earwax deeper
❌ Cause irritation or infection
❌ Injure the eardrum

Skip the cotton buds and let your ears do their job. If you have excessive earwax, ear pain, hearing loss, or a blocked sensation, consult an ENT specialist.

Always Breathing Through Your Mouth?

Mouth breathing isn't always just a habit. It may be a sign that something is blocking your nose or affecting normal breathing.

Possible causes include:
• Allergic rhinitis
• Enlarged adenoids or tonsils
• Nasal blockage
• Deviated nasal septum

Persistent mouth breathing, especially in children, deserves attention. It may affect sleep, oral health, and overall well-being.

If mouth breathing happens regularly, find out why. Talk to an ENT specialist

Bad Breath? It May Be More Than a Dental Problem.

Bad breath is often associated with oral hygiene, but sometimes the cause may involve the ear, nose, or throat.

ENT-related causes can include:
👃 Chronic sinus problems
🦠 Tonsil stones
💧 Dry mouth
👄 Throat infections

If bad breath persists despite good oral hygiene, don't ignore it. The underlying cause may need to be addressed.
Fresh breath starts with finding the cause.

Turn Down the Volume, Protect Your Hearing

Love listening with headphones? Your ears may not.
Listening to loud sounds for too long can damage the delicate structures responsible for hearing. Repeated exposure may lead to permanent hearing loss.

Protect your hearing:
🔉 Keep the volume at a safe level
⏸️ Give your ears regular breaks
🎧 Avoid prolonged exposure to loud sounds
👂 Get your hearing checked if you notice ringing, muffled hearing, or difficulty understanding speech.

Enjoy your music. Protect your hearing, too.

Dizziness vs. Vertigo: What’s the Difference?

Many confuse dizziness and vertigo, but they’re not the same:

🔸 Dizziness: Feeling lightheaded, faint, or unsteady
🔸 Vertigo: A false sense that you or your surroundings are spinning

⚠️ Both can have different causes—from inner ear problems to low blood pressure or anxiety.

If symptoms persist, consult your ENT for proper evaluation.
