From Pinagbuhatan to the BAYANIHANDA: Youth-Led Disaster Resilience Network! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿค

Last September 27, 2026, the Pinagbuhatan EmerGen-Z Response Team (PERT) joined fellow youth leaders and organizations at the Temporary City Hall for BAYANIHANDA, an initiative by Bayanihub focused on strengthening youth participation in disaster resilience and response.

And yes, may PERT representation sa panel!
Our very own Executive Officer, Neil Surigao, stepped up as one of the panelists during the session, sharing perspectives and experiences on youth-led disaster response and community resilience. ๐Ÿซก๐Ÿšจ

More than just showing up, weโ€™re here to connect, learn, share, and respond, because disaster resilience hits different when the youth are ready to take action.

Kabataan na handa. Kabataan na kumikilos. Kabataan na kasama sa bawat bayanihan.

Throwback to September 22, 2026, when the Pinagbuhatan EmerGen-Z Response Team (PERT) joined the 7th Rotary Club of Pasig Central Meeting โ€“ Partner in Service Integration Day at Pinagbuhatan High School!

Together with our fellow partners in service, we were honored to be part of a meaningful gathering where youth volunteers, leaders, and organizations came together to serve the community. As the Rotary Community Corps (RCC) of the club, weโ€™re grateful for the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and continue making a difference.

We also witnessed the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Rotaract officers, made even more special by seeing one of our very own PERT members officially join the officer lineup! ๐Ÿซกโค๏ธ

From emergency response to youth leadership, service comes in many formsโ€”and PERT is here for both.

Serve. Lead. Respond. Repeat.

And honestly, ang swerte namin na ma-witness at matutunan ang mga project na aligned sa disaster preparedness, response, and community resiliency.

As youth responders, these are the kinds of initiatives that hit differently because we get to see how youth-led programs can contribute to making communities more prepared, informed, and resilient.

Today, PERT is not just here to support weโ€™re here to witness, learn, connect, and celebrate the work of fellow young people and leaders who continue to serve their communities.

First aid isnโ€™t just about knowing what to do itโ€™s about having the courage to step up when someone needs help.

From โ€œhala, anong gagawin?โ€ to โ€œokay, I got this.โ€

Today, we recognize everyone who takes the time to learn, train, and prepare because emergencies donโ€™t come with a warning, but being prepared can make a difference.

Learn it. Practice it. Live it.
Because sometimes, being ready is the best way to care.
