Society of Adolescent Medicine of the Philippines Inc Convention in Cebu City Aug. 27-29, 2026. Congratulations to the Convention organizers led by Dr. Jimmy Dumlao and his industrious team members and adviser Dr. Emma Llanto. Theme: Comprehensive Care in a Complex World. Adolescents 360. Supported by PPS Cebu and DOH AND DepEd. Topics ranged from admirable Projects for Young Parents, Digital Citizenship, Climate Reality Check and its impact on Adolescent Health and Growth. One admirable youth who shared his experiences on Bullying and poor self- esteem while growing up with a severe disability was Bryan Gonzales and how he was able to overcome his disabilities to become an empowered youth. Equally interesting were the panel discussions on how the adolescents can avail of the Universal Health Care. Congratulations to our Organizing Committee and the Experts and Speakers who shared their experiences, expertise, visions for the health and future of our adolescents. May we all be inspired to continue our efforts to improve the health of adolescents and young people.

Hoping this will be an eye opener to their children. Before rewarding them with iPads , Cellphones, Computers , set some rules esp on Time limit, choices of media or games. Parents should supervise their kid’s games and sites. It is better to engage them in outdoor plays. Develop their relational skills through actual live friends rather than virtual friends. Increase their awareness about the dangers in social media, the predators that exist, how they are enticed to befriend them.
