Receiving feedback like this always reminds me why I love what I do. 🌟

When people think of consulting a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian, they sometimes expect strict rules or a rigid, impersonal meal plan. But in my practice, I believe that true healing begins with clear communication, empathy, and tailored support.

Seeing tags like "Caring Doctor," "Good Communicator," "Pleasinf Personality" and a perfect 5.0 rating on my telehealth profile truly warms my heart. It proves that the Nutrition Care Process is most effective when it’s delivered with a personal, supportive touch.

Thank you to my patients for trusting me with your health journeys, your vulnerabilities, and your recovery goals. Your progress is my greatest motivation!

If you are ready to take control of your health, manage a medical condition, or simply build a more sustainable relationship with food, I am always here to guide you step-by-step. Let’s work together to make your health goals a reality.

A heart-warming win for clinical nutrition. 👶💖

(Swipe to read a recent success story! ➡️)

It has been a quiet few weeks on my end as I’ve been deeply immersed in clinical cases at the hospital and in my private practice. Sometimes, the most rewarding moments happen in these quiet, private conversations.

Managing nutrition for a pregnancy complicated by APAS (Antiphospholipid Syndrome) requires extreme precision. In this case, our primary goal was ensuring the baby reached a healthy weight despite the clinical complications.

Seeing a patient message saying the baby is "healthy" and "success story tayo" makes every hour of careful planning worth it. It’s a powerful reminder that tailored nutrition isn't just about numbers—it’s about supporting life and giving families peace of mind.

Whether it's managing complex clinical conditions or simply helping you find a healthier balance, I am here to help you navigate your journey with science-backed nutrition.

I’m back and ready to help more of you reach your health goals this May! How can I support your nutrition journey this month?👇

It’s easy to focus on what we don't eat this week, but we shouldn't forget about our body's most fundamental requirement. ☀️💧

With the high summer temperatures, traveling, or outdoor traditions, silent dehydration can creep up on us. Staying hydrated is the simplest way to support your digestion, skin health, and energy levels during the Holy Week rush.

This isn't about drinking sugary drinks or complex concoctions—it's about re-connecting with the simple, clinical power of water.

This week, let's make it a habit to prioritize clean hydration, like simple water or fresh Buko. It's the ultimate 'Reset' for your system from the inside out. 🌿

What is your favorite trick for staying hydrated during the hot summer heat? Share it below so we can stay cool together! 👇

Are you getting ready for our traditional meatless meals tomorrow? 🌿🥣

Have you ever wondered why Monggo Guisado is such a huge part of our Holy Week tradition? It’s actually a beautiful intersection of our Filipino culture and good nutrition. For generations, the practice of abstinence has encouraged us to shift away from heavy meats and simplify our meals. This tradition isn't just a spiritual reset; it’s a physical one, too.

From a clinical perspective, Monggo (Mung beans) are a nutritional powerhouse. They are packed with plant-based protein and fiber, providing us with steady energy and essential iron without the saturated fats found in red meat. When we pair them with local greens like Malunggay, we are giving our metabolic system a much-needed chance to rest and recover.

This Holy Week, let's appreciate the wisdom in our traditional meals. By choosing these local staples, we are honoring our history while fueling our bodies with the very best of nature.

What is your favorite way to cook Monggo during this season? I’d love to hear your family’s secret ingredient! 👇

Stop chasing your blood sugar. Start leading it. 🛡️🩸

Many of my patients struggle because their sugar levels feel like a roller coaster—high in the morning, crashing by the afternoon. But effective management isn't about being perfect or restricting everything you love; it's about creating predictable patterns that your body can rely on.

To stay within the "Healing Zone" (80-130 mg/dL before meals), you need a strategy. Here are the 3 Golden Rules we use at the clinic to keep your glucose stable:

1️⃣ QUALITY: It’s not just about "no carbs." It’s about picking the right fuel. Choose Low GI sources like Camote, Oats, and Brown Rice. These provide a slow, steady burn and prevent the "sticky blood" that stalls recovery. Remember to limit refined carbs that are low in fiber!

2️⃣ QUANTITY: Consistency is your best friend. Instead of having one heavy meal, spread your carbohydrates equally throughout the day. Using tools like Carb Counting and the 1/4 Plate Rule helps you manage volume without the stress.

3️⃣ TIMING: Your body loves a routine. Eating at consistent times helps your insulin work more efficiently. Pro-tip: A simple 10-minute walk after meals acts like "natural insulin," helping your muscles use up that sugar immediately.

The Bottom Line: Management is about progress, not perfection. When you master these three, you take the guesswork out of your health!

Is your recovery running on the right fuel?

Last week, we talked about the "Scaffold" of healing—Protein. This week, we dive into the Power Source: Carbohydrates.

For my patients at work and in the clinic, especially those managing Diabetes, Carbohydrates are a double-edged sword. You need them for energy to rebuild tissue, but if your blood sugar "spikes" too high, it creates a "sticky" environment that actually stalls your healing and increases your risk of infection.

The NutriMedition Strategy for Week 2:
✅ Choose "Steady" Fuel: Swap white rice and sweets for Camote, Brown Rice, or Oats.
✅ The "Nutrition Trick": Don't change what you eat, just change the ORDER.

1. Vegetables (Fiber) 🥗
2. Meat/Fish (Protein) 🍗
3. Rice/Bread (Carbs) 🍚

By eating your fiber first, you create a "safety net" that slows down sugar absorption, keeping your blood smooth and your immune "soldiers" wide awake!

The Bottom Line: Control the sugar, win the recovery.

Stop treating your bones like rocks.

In orthopedic recovery, Calcium is just one player on a high-performance team. Bone is a living, protein-rich scaffold that requires a specific "crew" to repair.

Swipe through to meet the Nutrient Team:
🚚 The Gatekeeper & The Switch (D + Mg): Pulls Calcium into the blood and activates it.
📍 The GPS & The Glue (K + Vit C): Directs Calcium to the bones and "glues" the collagen frame.
🤝 The Partner & Reinforcement (P + Trace Minerals): Hardens and stabilizes the matrix for maximum strength.

Don’t just supplement—fuel the entire construction site.

Headline: Recovery is a biological investment.

In my last post, we established that protein is the primary repair kit for your body. But for surgical recovery, it’s about more than just quantity—it’s about synergy.

Healing has a high biological cost. Your body must build new tissue, blood vessels, and skin from scratch. This is an energy-intensive process that requires a constant surge of specific "raw materials." Without them, the body may actually break down its own muscle to fuel the repair process, leading to stalled recovery and increased risk of complications.

The secret to an optimized recovery is the Bricks & Mortar approach:

Animal Protein (The Bricks): Provides complete amino acids and high-density Zinc—the engine for DNA synthesis and cell division at the wound site.

Plant Protein (The Mortar): Legumes and vegetables provide Iron for oxygen transport and Vitamin C to "glue" new collagen fibers together.

When we combine these sources, we provide the body with the full spectrum of vitamins and minerals needed to fuel healing from the inside out.
