Pursuant to Proclamation No. 597, s. 2024, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., we celebrate the 48th National Disability Rights Week from July 17-23, 2026.

This year's theme: "Rights First, Legislation Forward – Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development."
Let us continue to uphold the rights, dignity, and full participation of our fellow Filipinos with disabilities — in education, employment, and every space in our community.

Together, let's build a more inclusive and equitable Philippines for all. 💪🌈

LOOK | QGHS students qualify for 2026 Global IT Challenge in Vietnam

Two students from Quirino General High School (QGHS), Hezron Matt Rambac and Shawn Delos Santos, have qualified for the 2026 Global IT Challenge (GITC) for Youth with Disabilities, which will be held in Da Nang City, Vietnam, in October 2026.

The pair earned their spots after competing in the National Information, Science, and Technology Challenge for Youth with Disabilities (NISTCYD), held at Hotel Casiana and Events Center in Tagaytay City from June 22 to 25.

Rambac and Delos Santos' qualification marks Quirino Province's fourth consecutive year of producing national qualifiers for the Global IT Challenge since 2023. It also marks the first time the province will send two participants to the international competition.

Behind Quirino Province's historic 𝟒-𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐫 achievement is Mr. Joey Ritumban of Quirino General High School (QGHS), who has served as the team's coach since 2023.

Also representing Quirino Province in the national competition were Mariel Bulluzo of Pinaripad National High School (PNHS) and Adrian Gab Arelle Castillo of San Isidro Integrated School, with Ms. Kriza Angel Gabatino, DAO designate of the PSWDO.

LOOK | The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) of the Province of Quirino, in collaboration with the Kabataang may K! (KmK!) held its 4th Local Information, Science, and Technology Challenge from April 7-8 at Quirino General High School, Zamora, Cabarroguis, Quirino.

National Intellectual Disability Week, celebrated every third week of February, serves as a reminder to raise awareness about intellectual disabilities and to strengthen support systems that uphold the rights and welfare of persons with intellectual disabilities.

This week encourages us to foster inclusive education, meaningful participation, and community support—because inclusion is not just an option, it is a responsibility we all share.

World Cancer Day is observed every February 4 to raise global awareness, improve education, and encourage action against cancer—one of the leading causes of death worldwide. This day reminds us that early detection, prevention, and access to quality care can save lives.

Today, we honor the strength of cancer warriors, celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost, and stand with families affected by cancer. Together, through compassion, support, and collective action, we can create a future where cancer no longer defines lives.

LOOK | KmK! – Kabataang may K!, in partnership with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), and Diffun Central School - Integrated SPED Center (DCS - ISC) held the International Day of Persons with Disabilities cm Christmas Party on December 9, 2025 at the DCS-ISC gymnasium.

The event was attended by different Special Needs Education (SNED) students from Diffun, Quirino. The activity aimed to honor the abilities, strengths, and contributions of Persons with Disabilities by fostering an inclusive environment and strengthening support systems and to provide meaningful opportunities for participants to understand disability inclusion, reduce stigma, and encourage advocacy, while engaging the community in festive and collaborative activities while sharing the joy and generosity of the Christmas season.
