WHY SOME WOMEN GO INTO LABOUR AND THEIR CERVIX REFUSES TO OPEN 😭🤰
Many pregnant women are shocked when they reach the hospital and hear:
“3 hours in labour… but cervix is still 1cm.”
“Contractions strong but no opening.”
“Baby is coming, but neck of the womb is not cooperating.”
Mama, it’s not your fault.
Your body is not failing.
There are REAL medical reasons!
Let’s break it down 👇👇
1️⃣ BABY’S HEAD IS NOT PRESSING THE CERVIX WELL
If baby is not positioned properly,
the cervix won’t open no matter how strong the contraction is.
Position affects progress A LOT.
2️⃣ TENSION & FEAR CAN “CLOSE” THE CERVIX
When you’re scared, stressed, shaking or crying,
your body releases adrenaline
this hormone BLOCKS dilation.
A relaxed mama opens faster.
3️⃣ INDUCTION BEFORE YOUR BODY IS READY
If the cervix is still hard, thick, or closed,
inducing labour may take longer
because your body needs more time to soften and open.
4️⃣ DEHYDRATION
Your uterus is a muscle.
If you’re dehydrated, contractions become weak and irregular → dilation slows.
5️⃣ EXHAUSTION
If you haven’t slept or eaten well,
your energy drops.
A tired body cannot dilate effectively.
6️⃣ PREVIOUS CERVICAL SCAR OR PROCEDURE
Some women have past cervical surgeries
that make the cervix open more slowly.
7️⃣ SOME BODIES JUST TAKE LONGER
Yes mama, some cervixes dilate FAST,
some are slow and steady.
Every woman is different.

MAMA HEAR THIS ❤️
A slow cervix does NOT mean you failed.
It does NOT make you weak.
It does NOT make your labour abnormal.
The most important thing is a SAFE delivery, not the speed.
You are strong.
Your body is wise.
Your baby is coming beautifully.
