🐟🌿 Aquaculture & Aquatic Animal Medicine: BFAR Alaminos! 🌊🐚
In Vet Med, we cover many areas — from small animals, poultry, equine, and ruminants, to apiculture, wildlife, and even aquatic animal medicine. During our externship, we explored this field at BFAR Alaminos.

Maganda dito kasi hindi lang swim-swim vibes 🤭🏖️ — but it also showed us how rich the Philippines is in aquatic resources. 🇵🇭✨ We had hands-on experience in culturing seaweeds, algae, clams, and even sea urchins.

Most importantly, we saw the potential of aquaculture as an agribusiness and how the government has been actively supporting fisherfolks to improve their livelihood. Truly a unique and eye-opening part of our vet journey! 💙

🌊 Last Stop: Sulvec, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur! 🦌🦭
We got to visit a resort to check on the sea lion and other animals. Part of our tasks here was deworming the deer and even experiencing sea lion feeding — such a unique hands-on moment! 💙

The place was really nice, and honestly one of the perks of being on externship. Sayang lang, wala kaming dalang damit — sana nakaligo kami sa dagat at sa pool! 🏖️😂

🦒 Next Stop: Giraffe Station! 🦒
Funny story — back in high school, I used to pronounce giraffe as “jraf-fee” 😂. It was actually my TOTGA who corrected me and taught me it’s just “jraf.” Hahaha, hanggang ngayon natatawa pa rin ako whenever I remember that moment.

Anyway, back to the vlog! At this station, we only had minimal interaction with the giraffes since most of the feeding was handled by their caretakers. Still, being this close to such graceful giants was such an awesome experience. 💙
