The next big IT-BPM growth opportunity could be something the industry builds before demand is even defined.

In his session, “Ahead of the Shift,” at the International IT-BPM Summit (IIS) 2026, “Intelligence at Scale: Accelerating the PH Pivot,” Straive CEO Ankor Rai explored what it takes to invest ahead of demand, redesign the business as markets evolve, and create value before competitors see the opportunity.

His point reframes how the industry has long worked. Most service businesses respond to demand, a client identifies a need, a provider builds to meet it. But as AI reshapes how work is designed, the Philippines’ process knowledge and delivery experience could become a design advantage, helping shape the mandates that come next.

The Philippines' place in the AI economy may come down to one strength: making AI work inside real enterprises.

That became the focus of the panel, "From Philippine Strength to ASEAN Scale" at the International IT-BPM Summit (IIS) 2026, "Intelligence at Scale: Accelerating the PH Pivot," and it's one worth sitting with as the region looks to what's next.

Moderated by:
🔹 Nicki Agcaoili, Vice-Chair, IBPAP Board of Trustees and Vice President and Chief Country Executive, Carelon Global Solutions Philippines

Panelists:
🔹 Benedict Hernandez, Chair Emeritus, IBPAP Board of Trustees, and Senior Advisor for Roadmap, IBPAP
🔹 Josephine Romero, Senior Adviser, ASEAN-Business Advisory Council (BAC)
🔹 Nora Terrado, FICD, CPA, Senior Advisor, ASEAN-BAC Philippines

With nearly two million Digital Filipino Workers (DFW) employed across global operations, deep domain knowledge, and years of adapting to new technology, the Philippines is well placed to lead in Applied AI, the work of integrating AI into real industries, processes, and enterprises.

We unpack it further in the latest IT-BPM ThinkSpace piece. Link in the comments.
