اسٹیتھو اسکوپ دو یونانی الفاظ کا مجموعہ ہے۔ ایک اسٹیتھو جس کا مطلب ہے "سینہ " اور دوسرا لفظ اسکوپ جس کا مطلب ہے " دیکھنا"۔
اسٹیتھو اسکوپ ایک فرانسیسی ڈاکٹر Rene Laennec نے 1816 میںNeckar-Enfants Malades Hospital میں ایجسد کیس تھا۔ اس ایجاد سے پہلے ڈاکٹر اپنا کان مریض کے سینے سے چپکا کر دل اور پھیپھڑوں کی آواز سننے کی کوشش کرتے تھے۔تاہم خواتین مریضہ کا معائنہ کرتے وقت کاغذ کو موڑ کر اسکی نلکی بنا لیا کرتے تھے اور اسی کاغذی نلکی کا ایک سرا مریض کے سینے سے لگاتے اور دوسرا سرا اپنے کان سےلگاتے۔ یوں لینیک(Laennec) نے محسوس کیا کہ اسطرح وہ زیادہ بہتر طریقے سے آواز سن سکتے ہیں۔Laennec نے اپنے بنائے ہوئے آلے کو Stethoscope کا نام دیا۔
شروع شروع میں Laennec نے لکڑی کی نلکی جیسا آلہ بنایا جس میں صرف ایک ایئر پیس ہوا کرتا تھا اسے Monoaural Stethoscope کہا جاتا تھا۔
پھر 1851 میں ایک آئرش (Irish) فزیشن Arthur Leared نے ایک ایسا اسٹیتھو سکوپ ایجاد کیا جس میں دو ایئر پیس ہوتے تھے۔ اسے Binaural Stethoscope کہا جاتا ہے۔ اسی کی ترقی یافتہ شکل آج کل استعمال میں ہے۔

What to do during an ASTHMATIC ATTACK?

Severe asthmatic attacks cause disproportionate suffering. There is difficulty in breathing.

During an asthma attack, the airways become swollen and inflamed. The muscles around the airways contract and the airways produces extra mucus which cannot be taken out.

Precautions:

1- The patient should be made to sit in an upright position, raise his forearms on some support in front. See that tbe elbows are spread out in such a way that the chest muscles are not under pressure.

2- Take long and deep breaths.

3- Get a hot drink

4- The room should be kept warm.

Medicines:

1- ACONITE 30 and IPECAUC 30 should be given alternately every 15 minutes to control the attack.

As soon as the attack is under control the interval between doses an be increased to one hour or more.
