The most expensive mistakes in an inpatient unit are usually invisible in the render.
Before approving an IPD room, I would look beyond finishes and ask:
Is the bed head infrastructure clinically coordinated?
Is staff movement unobstructed?
Can emergency intervention happen without relocating furniture?
Are medical gases, power, nurse call, monitoring and equipment positioned around the actual care workflow?
Then comes another layer often overlooked: cleanability, acoustics, lighting, maintainability and lifecycle cost.
A room may pass an architectural review and still fail an operational one.
That gap is where Medical Planning becomes critical.
