What’s PASS?

PASS is a simple and widely used fire safety technique for operating a fire extinguisher correctly and effectively during an emergency.

It stands for:

P – Pull the safety pin to unlock the extinguisher
A – Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire, not the flames
S – Squeeze the handle to release the extinguishing agent
S – Sweep the nozzle from side to side at the base of the fire

Following the PASS method ensures a quick, controlled, and effective response in the early stage of a fire, helping to reduce damage and protect lives.

PASS کیا ہے؟

PASS ایک سادہ اور مؤثر فائر سیفٹی طریقہ کار ہے جو ایمرجنسی کی صورت میں فائر ایکسٹنگوئشر کو صحیح اور محفوظ طریقے سے استعمال کرنے کے لیے استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔

یہ چار مراحل پر مشتمل ہے:

P – Pull (پن کھینچیں): ایکسٹنگوئشر کو کھولنے کے لیے سیفٹی پن نکالیں
A – Aim (نشانہ لگائیں): نوزل کو آگ کے شعلوں پر نہیں بلکہ آگ کی جڑ (base) پر رکھیں
S – Squeeze (دبائیں): ہینڈل کو دبائیں تاکہ فائر فائٹنگ مواد خارج ہو
S – Sweep (پھیلائیں): نوزل کو دائیں سے بائیں حرکت دیں تاکہ آگ مکمل طور پر بجھ جائے

PASS طریقہ کار پر عمل کرنے سے آگ کے ابتدائی مرحلے میں فوری، محفوظ اور مؤثر کنٹرول حاصل کیا جا سکتا ہے، جس سے جانی اور مالی نقصان کو کم کیا جا سکتا ہے۔
