The SIOVS delegation was led by ๐๐ซ๐จ๐. ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐ช๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ซ, Executive Director, SIOVS, who attended the conference in his capacity as ๐๐ฑ๐๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ, Prevention and Control of Blindness, Pakistan. The delegation also included ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐ก๐ฆ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ซ, Deputy Director, Community Ophthalmic Services SIOVS, ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ง๐๐ง ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐, Consultant Ophthalmologist SIOVS, and ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ก๐ซ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ฆ๐จ๐ง, Assistant Director IT SIOVS & IT Lead PEEK.
The ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ Conference brought together global leaders, eye health professionals, policymakers, researchers, innovators, development partners, and health system experts committed to advancing the goals of the ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ฏ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ฌ (๐๐๐๐) . The conference focused on accelerating progress towards universal access to eye health services, integrating eye care into national health systems, strengthening human resources, promoting innovation, and addressing the global burden of avoidable blindness and visual impairment.
Throughout the conference, the SIOVS delegation participated in technical sessions, leadership forums, networking engagements, and knowledge-sharing discussions centered on the implementation of the ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ง ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐ฒ. Key themes included people-centered eye care, health system strengthening, workforce development, digital innovation, data-driven decision-making, and collaborative approaches to ensuring that everyone, everywhere has access to quality eye health services.
During the IAPB 2030 IN SIGHT Live Meeting, ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฅ ๐๐ก๐ฆ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ซ, also highlighted the PEEK program and other community eye health initiatives being implemented by SIOVS.
A significant highlight of the conference was the international recognition received by SIOVS through the Young Systems Leaders Programme, an initiative designed to develop and empower the next generation of leaders working to strengthen eye health systems worldwide.
