Ever heard of Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS)?
If the answer is no, you’re not alone. Despite affecting millions of people worldwide, HS remains one of the most under-diagnosed skin conditions out there—often taking 7 to 10 years for people to get a proper diagnosis.
It’s time to break the silence and cut through the stigma
What is HS?
Hidradenitis Suppurativa is a chronic, non-contagious inflammatory skin condition. It causes painful, recurring lumps under the skin, most commonly in areas where skin rubs together—like the armpits, groin, inner thighs, and under the breasts.
Over time, these bumps can rupture, tunnel under the skin, and form scars.
Because of embarrassment and a lack of public awareness, many people suffer in silence for years before seeing a dermatologist/Plastic Surgeon. Early diagnosis is critical—it can help prevent progression, manage pain, and restore quality of life.
If you or someone you know is dealing with painful, recurring bumps in skin folds, please know you are not alone and there is support available. Reach out to a plastic surgeon to get a real care plan.
Help us spread the word—this post could help someone finally get the answers they need!
