❤️ When the heart is at risk, collaboration can save a life.

Left Cardiac Sympathetic Denervation (LCSD) is a specialized surgical treatment that can reduce the risk of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias in selected patients with inherited arrhythmia syndromes, particularly when conventional treatment is not enough.

But access to advanced care is not only about having the right procedure—it is about bringing together the right expertise, people and institutions.

This video highlights an example of multidisciplinary and inter-hospital collaboration between SIUT, AKUH and NICVD, where teams from different institutions worked together to provide advanced care for a patient at high risk of sudden cardiac death.

LCSD is an important treatment option for selected patients with inherited arrhythmia syndromes and deserves greater awareness among pediatricians, pediatric cardiologists, electrophysiologists, cardiac surgeons and physicians caring for patients at risk of sudden cardiac death.

Building networks between hospitals can make advanced cardiac care accessible to more children and families—especially in resource-limited settings.

This is more than a procedure.
It is an example of what is possible when institutions work together.
