Maarij joined IQ’s Neurodevelopmental Clinical Practicum to understand what clinical work feels like up close.

One session stayed with her.

A child with autism was difficult to engage at first until a familiar sound played, and his attention shifted almost immediately.

Later, when he became overwhelmed, Maarij paused and watched how supervision helped make sense of the moment.

At IQ, students are guided through real clinical exposure so they can understand the work with more care and clarity.

Our Neurodevelopmental Clinical Practicum is live. 20 hours of hands-on training where you'll conduct real assessments, design interventions, and contribute to meaningful community impact.

Focus: Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities.

What you'll do: Assessment, intervention design, therapeutic sessions, case formulation.

Capstone: Community project supporting inpatient care.

Moments become milestones when learning meets real clinical experience.

Over the past few weeks, our Neurodevelopmental Clinical Practicum and Therapeutic Assessment & Practice (TAP) trainees have worked alongside experienced clinicians, observed diverse clinical presentations, conducted assessments, interacted with patients and families, and taken important steps toward becoming confident mental health professionals.

Now it’s time to celebrate everything they’ve accomplished.

Join us for an evening of good food, music, activities, shared memories, and certificate distribution as we recognize the dedication, growth, and achievements of our Neuro and TAP trainees.

Meet Laiba, Neurodevelopmental Clinical Practicum trainee.

A few weeks ago, neurodevelopmental disorders and play-based interventions were concepts she had only encountered in textbooks. Today, she’s working one-on-one with children, learning how interventions are planned, adapted, and delivered in real clinical settings.

Watching children with ADHD, autism, and cognitive difficulties respond to therapy has shown her that neurodevelopmental practice requires far more preparation, flexibility, and observation than she expected.

“Watching children improve through play-based interventions helped me understand why these techniques matter.”

Her experience is a reminder that understanding neurodevelopmental conditions doesn’t come from theory alone. It develops through working with children, learning from experienced supervisors, and seeing progress unfold one session at a time.
