FIRE SAFETY DRILL – ABBASI SHAHEED HOSPITAL

Abbasi Shaheed Hospital successfully conducted a Fire Safety Drill to enhance preparedness and ensure the safety of patients and hospital staff.

All Officers, House Officers, Postgraduate Trainees, and Doctors participated enthusiastically. The participants received practical training, including live demonstrations of fire safety procedures, emergency response, evacuation techniques, and proper use of fire extinguishers.

The drill was successfully conducted and provided valuable hands-on training to the hospital team, further strengthening our commitment to patient safety and emergency preparedness.

Wreaths on behalf of the Administration and all employees of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, KMC were laid in honour of Major Ziauddin Abbasi Shaheed, paying tribute to his courage, sacrifice, and distinguished service to the nation.

It is a matter of great historical significance that the name “Abbasi Shaheed Hospital” was suggested by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and the hospital was also inaugurated by him personally in 1974, in recognition of the sacrifice and distinguished service of Major Ziauddin Abbasi Shaheed.

May his sacrifice always be remembered with pride, honour, and gratitude. 🇵🇰

REVAMPING OF CITATION STONE AFTER 52 YEARS

Citation was officially inscribed on the memorial stone erected in the memory of Major Ziauddin Abbasi Shaheed.

The Citation was originally presented in 2003 to the Administration of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) by Battalion Commander, Guides Cavalry (Frontier Force) at that time.

Major Ziauddin Abbasi Shaheed belonged to the Guides Cavalry (FF) and rendered the ultimate sacrifice in the service of Pakistan.

The Citation has been approved by GHQ and has now been officially inscribed on the memorial stone as a lasting tribute to his sacrifice and services to the nation.

Family of Major Ziauddin Abbasi Shaheed

The presence of the family of Major Ziauddin Abbasi Shaheed made the commemorative ceremony especially meaningful and memorable.

We sincerely appreciate Mr. Waheed Abbasi, who is not only the brother of the (late) Mrs. Ziauddin Abbasi but also the first cousin of Major Ziauddin Abbasi Shaheed, for travelling all the way from Houston, USA, to attend this special ceremony.

His presence was a great honour for all of us and added a deeply personal touch to this historic occasion.
