Faculty Development Workshop, a Collaborative Research-based Training Program was successfully held on 16th & 17th July 2026 by the Emerging Consultant Development Program (ECDP), Pakistan Pediatric Association, featuring sessions on Medical Paper Writing and the Effective Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Medical Research.

Organized under the kind supervision of Prof. Dr. Aamer Naseer Qureshi and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Faheem Afzal, the workshop brought together faculty members and postgraduate residents for an enriching academic experience.

The Pre-Symposium Workshop on Neonatal Resuscitation was successfully organized under the kind supervision of Prof. Dr. Aamer Naseer Qureshi and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Faheem Afzal at Paediatric Medicine Unit-II, King Edward Medical University/Mayo Hospital Lahore, as part of the 10th Annual Scientific Symposium of Pakistan Pediatric Association Punjab.

This workshop brought together pediatric residents, consultants, and healthcare professionals for an interactive learning experience, featuring expert lectures, hands-on skill stations, clinical simulation scenarios, and pre- and post-workshop assessments, reinforcing evidence-based neonatal resuscitation practices and enhancing practical skills essential for improving newborn outcomes.

We are sincerely grateful to our esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Akmal Laeeq, all respected faculty members, instructors, facilitators, and all participants for making this workshop a great success.

Continuing its tradition, the Department of Pediatric Medicine Unit-II, KEMU / Mayo Hospital Lahore, organized a farewell ceremony for the outgoing batch of house officers on October 11, 2025.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Faheem Afzal, the Head of Department, addressed the outgoing batch and encouraged them to uphold professional ethics and strive to become compassionate, competent doctors.

Dr. Sharfa Shahid, Dr. Zuha Zahra, Dr. Ali Adnan, and Dr. Basil were honored with Best House Officer awards in recognition of their outstanding performance.

The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of faculty members, residents, and house officers.
