We are pleased to welcome Dr. Huma Hameed as our new dean for Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Central Punjab. Dr. Huma is a distinguished pharmaceutical researcher and academic leader who earned her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from INSERM Paris and the University of Rennes 1, France, under the prestigious HEC Faculty Development Overseas Scholarship. Her doctoral research focused on innovative therapeutic strategies for hepatitis, liver disorders, and hepatocellular carcinoma. With 70+ research publications and a cumulative journal impact factor exceeding 400, Dr. Huma has made significant contributions in the fields of drug delivery systems, nanocarriers, translational pharmaceutics, and pharmaceutical innovation. Her research excellence has been recognized through numerous achievements, including academic distinctions, innovative research contributions, and successful translation of prototypes into real-world applications. She is the Founder and Faculty Lead of BioHealthion, an SECP-registered healthcare startup focused on bridging academia and industry, where five research-based products have been successfully commercialized and launched in retail markets. She has also filed two patent applications with the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan and is currently serving as a Principal Investigator on a funded research project focused on nutraceutical product development at the University of Central Punjab. Dr. Huma has demonstrated strong academic mentorship by supervising/co-supervising six doctoral researchers and supervised/co-supervised fourteen MPhil scholars, with several of her students securing prestigious international scholarships, including MEXT Japan, Erasmus Mundus, and Merit Scholarship France. Her leadership reflects a commitment to research excellence, innovation, industry collaboration, and impactful pharmaceutical education.
