Chicken Can't Stand? Here's What to Do π
A chicken that suddenly cannot stand is a serious warning sign. It may be caused by vitamin deficiencies, injury, Marek's disease, Newcastle disease, coccidiosis, severe worm infestation, poisoning, dehydration, or weakness from illness. Acting quickly can improve its chances of recovery.
1. Isolate the Chicken
π Move the affected bird to a clean, dry, and quiet place to prevent bullying and reduce the risk of spreading disease.
π Organic Support: Blend 10 fresh moringa leaves or 2 fresh papaya leaves with 1 liter of clean water, strain, and offer it once daily for 3β5 days.
2. Check for Injuries
π Examine the legs, feet, hips, and wings for swelling, cuts, broken bones, or dislocated joints.
π Organic Support: Apply fresh aloe vera gel gently to minor cuts or scrapes 2 times daily. Do not apply it to deep wounds or broken bones.
3. Give Clean Water
π Make sure the chicken drinks clean, fresh water. If it cannot drink on its own, carefully help it take small amounts.
π Organic Support: Blend 2 cloves of garlic with 1 liter of clean water, strain, and offer it once daily for 3 days.
4. Offer Nutritious Feed
π Give soft, high-quality feed that is easy to eat. Hand-feed small amounts if necessary.
π Organic Support: Mix 10 fresh chopped moringa leaves or 1 fresh chopped papaya leaves into the daily feed for 5 days.
5. Support Digestion
π Keep the bird warm and allow it to rest.
π Organic Support: Blend 1 small piece of fresh ginger with 1 liter of clean water, strain, and offer it once daily for 3 days.
6. Check for Worms
π If you notice weight loss, pale comb, or worms in the droppings, use a suitable poultry dewormer according to the label directions.
π Organic Support: Mix 1 tablespoon of crushed papaya seeds into 1 kg of feed for 3 consecutive days.
7. Prevent Future Cases
π Keep the coop clean and dry, provide a balanced diet, ensure constant access to clean water, control parasites, avoid overcrowding, and follow an appropriate prevention program.
