Across the border, thousands of young people are raising their voices against examination paper leaks because they believe their education, hard work, and future deserve protection. Their protest is not just about an exam infact it is about dignity, fairness, and hope.
It made me pause and reflect on us.
Pakistan has also suffered from paper leaks, academic injustice, and a system that often disappoints sincere students. Yet, our collective response is often silence. Many of our young people pour endless energy into social media debates, viral trends, and political slogans, but when it comes to protecting their own educational rights, that same passion is rarely seen.
This is not a criticism of an entire generation. Our youth are talented, intelligent, and capable of extraordinary change. The real question is: What are we encouraging them to fight for?
If our young people grow up believing that popularity is more valuable than purpose, that following personalities is easier than questioning systems, or that remaining silent is safer than demanding accountability, then we cannot place all the blame on them. Families, schools, society, and leadership all share the responsibility of shaping the values that define a generation.
Real patriotism is not blind loyalty to individuals. It is the courage to stand for justice, merit, and truth, even when it is uncomfortable.
Every leaked paper steals more than exam marks. It steals confidence, rewards dishonesty, and crushes the dreams of students who spent countless nights studying with integrity. Every time we stay silent, we unintentionally tell honest students that their hard work matters less than corruption.
The youth of Pakistan do not lack intelligence. They do not lack potential. What they need is a culture that inspires critical thinking instead of blind following, responsibility instead of indifference, and action instead of endless distraction.
A nation's future is not determined by the number of its young people scrolling through their screens. It is determined by the number willing to stand up for what is right.
May our generation learn that the loudest voice is not always the strongest but the voice raised for justice always leaves the deepest impact.
