Nursing Faculty Development Program | Mastering Data Analysis Through SPSS 🌿

The College of Nursing, Lahore General Hospital / Ameer-ud-Din Medical College successfully organized an interactive workshop on “Mastering Data Analysis Through SPSS” on 8th August 2026, as part of its ongoing Nursing Faculty Development Program – “From Caregivers to Educators: Advancing Excellence in Nursing.”

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal, Worthy Principal, PGMI/Ameer-ud-Din Medical College/Lahore General Hospital, emphasized that continuous faculty development, research competence, and evidence-based practice are fundamental to strengthening nursing education and improving the quality of healthcare. He reiterated the institution’s commitment to regularly conducting academic and capacity-building activities that equip faculty with contemporary knowledge and practical research skills.

Ms. Samina Kausar, Principal, College of Nursing, highlighted that developing strong research and data-analysis skills among nursing faculty is essential for promoting evidence-based teaching, meaningful research, and better clinical decision-making. She encouraged faculty members to translate the knowledge gained through such workshops into their academic and research activities.

The session was facilitated by Dr. Muhammad Abidullah, PhD/Postdoctorate (University of Liverpool, UK), Associate Professor & Chairman, Department of Educational Research and Education, University of the Punjab, Lahore. Through an engaging and practical session, he guided participants on SPSS-based data management, selection and application of appropriate statistical techniques, analysis of research data, interpretation of results, and their effective utilization in scientific research.

The program was coordinated under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Amna Ahsan Cheema, Head of Gynae Unit-II, along with Dr. Saira Fayyaz, Associate Professor, Gynae Unit-II, and Dr. Fatima Ayub, Assistant Professor, Gynae Unit-II.

The workshop reflected the institution’s continuing commitment to faculty development, research excellence, evidence-based nursing education, and advancement of healthcare through knowledge and skills.

A New Era of Digital Medical Education Begins at Ameer-ud-Din Medical College! 🩺📚✨

A proud and historic day for Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC) & Lahore General Hospital (LGH) as the Virtual Anatomy Table was formally inaugurated by our Worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal, marking another significant milestone towards academic excellence, innovation, and technology-driven medical education.

The ceremony was graced by eminent academicians from across Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal, Principal PGMI/AMC/LGH, and Prof. Dr. Shaista Farooq, Professor of Anatomy, CMH Medical College Lahore, attended as the Chief Guests.

The event was further honoured by the presence of our distinguished Guests of Honour: Prof. Dr. Attiya Mubarak (Professor Emeritus, Ex-HOD Anatomy, Rahbar Medical College & Ex-Chairperson, Punjab Healthcare Commission), Prof. Dr. Fouzia Farzana (Ex-HOD Anatomy, PGMI/AMC, currently Professor at Continental Medical College), Prof. Dr. Muneeza Saeed (Ex-HOD Physiology, PGMI/AMC), Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain (Medical Superintendent, LGH & HOD Paediatrics, PGMI/AMC), and Dr. Shaista Mubeen, Additional Dean, PGMI/AMC.

We were equally privileged by the presence of our Special Guest, Prof. Ashal Pal, HOD Paediatric Ophthalmology, King Edward Medical University.

The Department of Anatomy sincerely appreciates the participation of our esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Farah Shafi (HOD Medicine), Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Gul (HOD Ophthalmology), Prof. Dr. Tahira Saleem (HOD Physiology), Prof. Dr. Waqar Siddiqui (HOD Pharmacology), Prof. Dr. Farhan Rasheed (HOD Pathology), Dr. Fariha Salman (HOD Community Medicine), and Dr. Mariam Arif (HOD Biochemistry), whose presence made this academic event even more memorable.
