A Good Setup Looks Right. A Great Setup Performs Right. 🦷

This setup was refined beyond basic alignment, with a focus on better biomechanics and controlled tooth movement.
The plan was optimized for anterior leveling, arch coordination, reduced unwanted tipping, and improved anterior and posterior contacts.

The goal was simple: a stable, functional, and predictable final result.

Small refinements in a digital setup can make a big difference in the clinical outcome.

A treatment plan can look clean, organised, and clinically convincing — but that doesn’t always mean it’s clinically right.
The aligner industry has come a long way with treatment-planning software, but I think we also need to focus on how we assess the plans it produces.
Are the treatment objectives clear?
Are the planned movements actually suitable for the patient?
What compromises have been made?
And what happens if a planned movement doesn’t express as expected?
Technology should support better clinical decisions, not make approval feel automatic.
For me, treatment-planning quality sets the standard. Every movement should have a reason, and every case should be properly questioned before approval.
