Case # 5
The patient, working in Saudi Arabia, sustained trauma resulting in a radial styloid fracture. He initially received back slab immobilization abroad and later presented to us for definitive surgical treatment with K-wire fixation.
He reported wrist pain and limited movement. Postoperative X-rays showed good alignment and stable fixation. The patient has been advised regular follow-up and physiotherapy for optimal recovery.

ایک مریض پر Revision Carpal Tunnel Release (CTR) کی گئی جو دیر سے آیا تھا۔
پہلے وہاں CTR surgery ہو چکی تھی لیکن مریض کو اب بھی ہاتھ میں درد، جھنجھناہٹ اور تین انگلیوں میں سن ہونے کی شکایت تھی۔
جب دوبارہ سرجری کی گئی تو معلوم ہوا کہ پچھلی بار Transverse Carpal Ligament (Flexor Retinaculum) کو مکمل طور پر release نہیں کیا گیا تھا، جس کی وجہ سے علامات برقرار رہیں۔
🖐 Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) کیا ہے؟
یہ ایک عام بیماری ہے جس میں wrist کے اندر موجود median nerve پر دباؤ پڑتا ہے۔ اس دباؤ سے درد، سن ہونا اور ہاتھ میں کمزوری پیدا ہوتی ہے، خاص طور پر انگوٹھے، شہادت اور درمیانی انگلی میں۔
⚠️ Awareness Message:
اگر Transverse Carpal Ligament کو مکمل طور پر release نہ کیا جائے تو median nerve پر دباؤ برقرار رہتا ہے، جس سے علامات ختم نہیں ہوتیں اور بعض اوقات دوبارہ (revision) surgery کی ضرورت پڑتی ہے۔
Carpal Tunnel surgery ہمیشہ کسی trained orthopedic یا hand surgeon سے کروانی چاہیے تاکہ مکمل اور محفوظ nerve release ہو
