Functional & Aesthetic Rhinoplasty

A female patient presented with bilateral nasal obstruction and aesthetic concerns, including a dorsal hump and a drooping nasal tip.

To improve nasal airflow, bilateral partial turbinectomy was performed, while preserving the major functional portion of the inferior turbinates and addressing only the excessive fleshy component. The turbinates play an important role in air filtration, humidification, and conditioning of inspired air, so preservation of adequate turbinate tissue is important for maintaining nasal function and minimizing the risk of empty nose syndrome.

The procedure also included dorsal hump reduction and tip elevation, creating a more balanced nasal profile while maintaining functional nasal airflow.
