*Hepatitis B & C Screening Camp Successfully Held at the University of Baltistan, Skardu*
Skardu, 7 August 2026: Akhundian Foundation Pakistan, in collaboration with the University of Baltistan (UOBS) and GBIST, successfully organized a Free Hepatitis B & C Screening Camp at the University of Baltistan, Skardu, to promote public awareness, early diagnosis, and prevention of Hepatitis B and C.
During the camp, 166 individuals received free Hepatitis B & C screening. Screening results showed that 160 participants tested negative, while 6 individuals tested positive. The positive cases were provided with initial counseling and advised to seek further medical evaluation and treatment.
The camp also featured awareness sessions on hepatitis prevention, safe health practices, and the importance of timely screening.
Dr. Mir Alam, Registrar, University of Baltistan, visited the camp and appreciated the efforts of Akhundian Foundation Pakistan, the University of Baltistan, GBIST, healthcare professionals, and volunteers for organizing this important public health initiative. He encouraged the continuation of such collaborative health programs for the benefit of the community.
