𝟐𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐓𝐈 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐢 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐇𝐐 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐢.

Swabi: The 28th Board of Governors (BoG) Meeting of Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Swabi, comprising Gajju Khan Medical College (GKMC), Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC), and Allied Health Institutions, was held under the chairmanship of Major General (R) Salahuddin Qasim at the Conference Room of THQ Hospital Topi, MTI Swabi.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman and BoG members, including Prof. Dr. Tufail Mohammad, while Ms. Komal Fiza and Mr. Irfan joined online. The meeting was also attended by the Dean/CEO, Hospital Director, Medical Director, Director Finance, Nursing Director, and the Associate Hospital Directors (AHDs) of THQ TOPI and Chota Lahor.
During the meeting, Dr. Gul Parez, AHD, THQ Topi, presented a comprehensive progress report on the hospital's performance and recent developments. The Hospital Director of BKMC and AHD Topi briefed the Board on key initiatives, including the Fair Price Pharmacy, Emergency Department, Dialysis Unit, and the under-construction Gynaecology Complex. The Board appreciated the management for the significant improvements made in healthcare services at THQ Hospital Topi.
The Strategic Plan 2026–2029, presented by the Manager Internal Audit, was reviewed and endorsed by the Board for implementation over the next three years. The Internal Audit Department also presented its audit report, which was appreciated by the Board.
The Board emphasized the effective implementation of the Sehat Card Plus Programme to ensure that more patients benefit from quality healthcare services. The concerned officers were directed to further strengthen the programme at BKMC as well as THQ Hospitals Topi and Chota Lahor.
The Board also reviewed the progress of the Dr. Ashfaq Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Nigar College of Nursing, and Gajju Khan College of Dentistry projects. The BOG appreciated the progress on these development projects as well as other schemes included in the Annual Development Programme (ADP), including the Cath Lab, Clinical Tower, HMIS, and other ongoing infrastructure projects.
The Dean/CEO, Hospital Director, and Medical Director also presented their respective progress reports and agenda items to the Board.
The forum directed the Human Resources and Finance Departments to expedite the recruitment process for essential vacant positions to further strengthen healthcare services.
Before the meeting, the Chairman, Board member, and the management visited the newly established Fair Price Pharmacy, where quality medicines are being provided to patients at discounted prices. They also inspected the Dialysis Unit, New Emergency Department, OPD, Main Operation Theatre, and various hospital wards, where they interacted with patients and received their feedback. The delegation also visited the under-construction Gynaecology Complex, which is nearing completion.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to improving healthcare services, strengthening medical education, and completing ongoing development projects for the benefit of the people of Swabi.
