Follow-up Note! Trichotillomania (6 Months treatment)
Patient with trichotillomania managed on low-dose antipsychotic and antidepressant therapy alongside structured psychological intervention (habit-reversal training, stimulus control, and supportive psychotherapy).
At 6-month review, there is marked reduction in hair-pulling behavior, with no new alopecic patches. Urges are infrequent and manageable using learned behavioral strategies. Scalp shows healthy, uniform hair regrowth over previously affected areas. Medication adherence is good, with no reported adverse effects. Insight and motivation for continued treatment are preserved, and overall functioning has improved.
Impression: Trichotillomania – significant clinical improvement.
Plan: Continue current low-dose pharmacotherapy, maintain psychological strategies, and follow up for relapse prevention.

We are proud to inform that the Department of Psychiatry at Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Hospital has recently been renovated and upgraded into a state-of-the-art facility.
The department now comprises a 30-bedded inpatient unit with separate male and female wards, ensuring appropriate segregation and patient comfort. In addition, the female unit includes a dedicated isolation room designed to meet the requirements for Level-1 observation, in line with standard psychiatric care and safety protocols.
These upgrades aim to enhance the quality of mental health services, improve patient safety, and provide a more conducive therapeutic environment for both patients and healthcare professionals.
All patients in need of mental health care are most welcome!
