Every old culture on earth stopped for the solstice. We put it in a calendar app and forgot why.
Here is what they knew. The sun rises in the same place for a few days, climbs to its highest point, and pauses before it turns back toward the dark. They saw that pause and understood it as a doorway. So they did not just watch it. They walked into it. Stone circles aligned to one sunrise, sun gates, fires on the hills, water rites at the river. They stepped into the strongest moment of the solar year on purpose, to be changed by it.
And the same instant the sun peaks, it crosses into Cancer. Water. The Moon. Home and the body and the inner world. The light stops reaching outward and turns back toward all of that.
We kept the date and lost the ritual. The doorway still opens every year. We just stopped walking through it, then wonder why we feel scattered heading into summer.

Southern Hemisphere, your solstice is the winter one. The deepest inward point of the year. The doorway is even quieter and even stronger from there.
