It’s been a while since I ‘ve posted anything. There is a reason for that.
I have been away for my own ‘spirit-pimp’ journey. Because yes, we, the therapists need to look after ourselves too. Not only in a daily self-care routine kindaway, but also taking ourselves out of our normal circles for a longer time and immerse into ourselves, leaving beyond looking after others for a while.
I have been to a 10 days of silence retreat where I could deeply let go of all and just simply be as I was.
Last time I went to this event was 10+ years ago and this year my intuition told me it is that time again.
What surprised me, how natural it felt just to be this way with myself. Not having the urge to run away from what I see appearing in myself. The last time it has been a lot more difficult staying with myself such way. Also skipping talking and connecting to others was a lot lighter experience this time. It was interesting to sense how much I have changed since the last time.
Especially as I have expected a more difficult experience having a wide space with myself: with the good the bad and the ugly.
My most interesting realisation this time was:
How much I am powerless over my mind when it is grabbing on something like a pitbull. - And also the key over the situation: Let it be without fighting it, not taking it seriously - whatever it is in its focus and just be with whatever. After a while it lets go and I will be freer once again.
I could never experience the full process like this before, this ws the first time, when I could withness and go through events in my mind this way - and also smile in the meantime at the peculiarity of the situation.
The 10 days by myself gave me a very deep re-connection to the wide space that exists in me and I could wire myself to be with whatever is present in this space so much deeper than ever before. Without wanting to run away from it by pressing on my phone, reading a book, talking to my friends, or other escapisms that exists in the daily life.
I am so glad I listened to this call.
Now I am back on track in Sao Miguel and opening up to the New this immersion had brought to me, entering in my life.
