You rise and fall to the level of interactions your inner critic has with its friends.

There’s an old proverb:
“Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future.”

You’re probably already familiar with your inner critic, but did you know, it rarely acts alone?

In Positive Intelligence®, we call them Saboteurs — your inner critic’s besties.

They are who your inner critic turns to in moments of stress, fear, and self-doubt, and together they quietly shape your decisions and impact your energy and stress levels.

Let me introduce you to them - complete this short 5-minute assessment - https://assessment.positiveintelligence.com/saboteur/ll/QcDUyr6wh

When you identify your inner critic’s “besties,” you gain the power to
▪️Interrupt unhelpful patterns
▪️Shift your perspective
▪️Respond with intention instead of reaction

Awareness is the first step to shifting your perspective.

Once you’ve seen the results, let me know if they feel familiar.

This caught my attention mid-scroll this morning.

It reminded me how quickly our inner judge gets to work - making meaning from the smallest signals.

A tone. An expression. A moment.

And just like that…
A sentence is inserted.
A story is formed.

That inner judge creates stories about ourselves, others, and our circumstances.

And when stress is high?

It works overtime - filling in the blanks with assumptions that often aren’t true. Our brains are wired to close the gaps… and just like AI they aren’t always accurate.

That’s where the pause becomes powerful. The story is the alert to pause.

A pause to notice.
A pause to get curious about the facts.
A pause to identify the filler.

An intentional pause creates space to get curious - curiosity opens the opportunity to shift.

Instead of reacting, pause and ask:
What else could be true?
Is this fact… or interpretation?
What assumptions am I making?
Is this helping me - or adding to my stress?

Recognizing is how we move from autopilot, and the sooner you “catch” the judge at work, the quicker you can shift.

This is the foundation of my Dare to Be EPIC group coaching program.

Take a moment today to get curious about the stories you’re telling yourself.

Are they helping you… or adding to your ?

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to facilitate a half-day How to Fascinate® session with our student leaders at the ISL Summit - it was such a powerful reminder of what happens when people see themselves from the perspective of the advantages and value they bring.

That experience inspired me to open up a limited number of private 1:1 sessions for a How to Fascinate® Assessment + Personalized Debrief.

This is for you if you’ve ever wondered:
• How others actually see you
• What makes you naturally stand out
• Why some things feel effortless - while others drain you

In this session, we’ll uncover your unique advantages and give you the language to confidently own them - in your work, your relationships, and how you show up every day.

I’m opening a small number of 1:1 spots.

If this is speaking to you, send me a DM with “FASCINATING” and I’ll share the details + booking link.

Six years ago, the world changed.

Uncertainty and fear arrived.

So many unknowns and challenges we’d never experienced before.

And yet… here we are.

Six years later, maybe a little tattered and torn - maybe a little wiser?

In Positive Intelligence®, there’s the Sage Perspective and the Three Gifts Technique, which invites us to look at a situation with curiosity and explore what gifts might be hidden inside.

More often than not, those gifts - learning, inspiration and strengthening of your superpowers are not neatly wrapped with a bow.

Navigating the pandemic was challenging, but amid the disruption, many of us discovered unexpected gifts.

🎁 The gift of innovation as the world adapted overnight
🎁The gift of empathy and connection as we leaned on each other in new ways
🎁The gift of strength and action, as did things we don’t think we could
🎁 The gift of exploration and navigation, and we embed and flowed
🎁The gift of perspective - about what truly matters
🎁 And let’s not forget, the gifts of MS Teams, remote work, grocery pick-up, outdoor walks, international connections and slowing down.

Sometimes the gifts we receive are not obvious at first.

Sometimes we only recognize them when we look back.

Six years later, I’m curious…

What gifts did that time reveal for you?

Today’s quote comes from one of my favourite yoga teachers Greatrix:
“We always have choices.”

Her message throughout the class left me thinking about choices and the fact that…

They might not be perfect.
They might not feel optimal.
But even when we don’t like them.
They are there.

Sometimes we judge and avoid them.

But even avoidance and judgment… are choices.

For the past month I’ve been dealing with a sore wrist/hand. It’s impacted me more than I’d like to admit. In addition to the pain, it’s slowing me down which is frustrating (disempowering).

But it’s also reminding me to be more mindful.
To pause when I notice myself defaulting to my left hand and teaching me to slow down (empowering).

Slowly, I’ve been accepting this while also working on taking care of it - icing it, resting and treating it while also exploring my limits. It’s been improving and I know it will get better. It’s frustrating, and although sitting in frustration can be a choice it’s not a solution.

Yesterday’s yoga class was a reminder to make the choices that work best in the moment.

And sometimes, those small choices are exactly what we need.

That child’s pose I chose over downward dog never felt so good.

Strength • Resilience • Potential

Three words come to mind this

Embracing our , building , and stepping into our doesn’t just change our own lives.

It creates a ripple.

I invite you to think of the women who have created a ripple effect.

Some have inspired; others have offered opportunities to learn and grow, empathy, and maybe even belief when you didn’t have it yourself.

The women who come to mind first are my mom, the most resilient woman I know, who taught me to keep going no matter the challenge, and my daughter, who inspires me every day.

But I’m also thinking about the ripple effect every female who has walked alongside me at some point in my life - I’m grateful for the support, guidance and mentorship.

I’m fortunate to work in the space of potential - education and coaching is all about potential.

The ripple starts within by tapping into our own potential, knowing our strengths and believing in our ability to handle things.

Together, we build a stronger world.

Time to restart your engines and revisit the life lessons that came to mind while watching the final race last season.

🏁You can’t run full throttle all the time. Even the best drivers pace themselves.

🏁Pit stops matter. They don’t have to be long to be effective - a short pause can change everything.

🏁Choose the right tires for the conditions. The tools and strategies that work on a sunny day won’t help in the rain.

🏁Stay within the lines. Discipline, consistency, and boundaries keep you in the race.

🏁Eyes forward. Focus on the road ahead, not what’s already behind you.

🏁Manage emotions. If feelings take the wheel, performance suffers.

🏁Trust the team. Sometimes the strategy won’t favour you personally, but it moves the whole team forward.

🏁The path to the finish line is rarely straight. Expect twists, turns, and unexpected detours.

🏁Things can change in a split second. Adaptability is everything.

🏁Some setbacks are out of your control. A safety car or debris on the track can shake any race - and any plan.

🏁Nerves don’t help at full speed. When it’s go-time, grounding and presence matter.

🏁Championships are won by consistency. You don’t need to win every race to come out on top.

🏁Control what you can. Let the rest go.
Stay committed to your purpose. Loyalty to the bigger vision keeps you moving.

🏁Endurance counts. You’ve got to still be standing - and rolling - at the end.

🏁Everyone plays a role. No podium finish happens alone.

🏁Push your limits wisely. Speed matters, but so does strategy.

Save this for a future reminder
