Some ideas don’t come from boardrooms. They come from lived experience.

Byuzuye Pivot Organization (BPO)
For 17 years, our founder and his family walked alongside his brother, Meddy, as he lived with mental health illness. It was a long journey, marked by hope, confusion, exhaustion, faith, love, and moments no family is ever prepared for.

Mental illness did not affect Meddy alone. It affected everyone who loved him. Through those years, the family saw first-hand the weight of stigma, the lack of understanding, and how isolating mental health struggles can be, especially when support systems are limited and conversations are avoided.

Out of that reality, BPO was founded. Not as a theory. Not as a trend. But as an idea shaped by experience, compassion, and the desire to make things better for others.

After BPO was established, Meddy passed away, now it's almost 2 months after his pssing. His death left an emptiness that words cannot fill, but it also left behind a legacy that comes with a responsibility.

A responsibility to speak where silence once existed.
A responsibility to act where support was missing. A responsibility to turn personal pain into collective purpose. Today, BPO exists to raise awareness, promote prevention, and support individuals, families, and communities affected by mental health challenges. We believe mental health is human health, and that seeking help should never come with shame.

Meddy’s story lives on through this work. Through every conversation started. Through every life reached. Through every family reminded that they are not alone. BPO exists to restore individual & their families to living a life of fullness in Rwanda & Beyond.
